About The Custom Company UK
Designed with Purpose.
The Custom Company UK was built from real life.
Founded in 2022, what began as a passion for creating personal pieces has grown into an independent creative design studio specialising in bespoke design, print and custom made pieces for businesses, celebrations and meaningful moments.
At the heart of everything I create is a simple belief that good design begins with understanding.
I naturally notice the details that give something meaning. A child’s favourite character, a particular colour they love, the little things that make their personality shine, the feeling someone wants to capture, or the way a business wants to be seen.
Those details become part of the design.
How I See Design
I don’t usually begin with a fixed idea of what something should look like.
I explore.
I gather inspiration, create mood boards, experiment with different directions and gradually work out what feels right. I remove what doesn’t belong, change details, try something else and keep refining until the design feels like it belongs to the person, story or purpose behind it.
Sometimes the smallest change can completely alter how a design feels.
That’s a big part of what makes my work personal. I’m not simply following a formula or changing a name on an existing design. I’m responding to the story behind each project and allowing the design to develop from there.
Designed Around What Matters
A child’s design isn’t just a name on a top. It’s an opportunity to reflect who they are.
A keepsake isn’t simply something to personalise. It’s a way of holding onto something meaningful.
A brand isn’t just a logo. It’s how a business communicates who it is.
And a celebration isn’t simply a collection of products. It’s an experience made up of details that should feel connected.
This is why I care so much about the details.
The things that might seem small to someone else can be the things that make a design feel completely right to the person receiving it.
No Two Stories Are The Same
I don’t believe in simply reproducing the same design for someone else.
Even when a customer asks for something I’ve created before, I will always make changes and develop the design so that it feels like theirs.
It might be a different colour palette, an illustration, a layout, a graphic detail or simply a change that makes the overall design feel more suited to them.
No two people, stories or ideas are exactly the same and their design shouldn’t be either.
A Considered Approach
Every project begins with understanding.
I want to know what matters to you, what you’re trying to create and, where relevant, the person or story behind it.
From there, I explore the possibilities, refine the details and develop the design until it feels right.
That might mean creating something completely from scratch, developing an existing idea or taking a simple brief and interpreting it in a way you hadn’t imagined.
It’s often why customers tell me:
“I’ll leave it to you.”
And that trust is something I value enormously.
What I Create
The Custom Company UK brings together creative design, print and custom made pieces across a range of people, businesses and occasions.
From children’s designs, personalised clothing and milestone keepsakes to brand identity, business branding, social media design, promotional print, event styling, wedding details and bespoke commissions, every project is approached with the same care and attention.
The product may change.
The reason behind it may change.
But the approach remains the same.
Understand what matters.
Explore the possibilities.
Consider every detail.
Create something that feels right.
The Inclusion Initiative
Designed to inspire. Created to include.
The Inclusion Initiative is an original collection inspired by lived experience and a belief in greater understanding and inclusion.
Through considered design, the collection aims to encourage conversations, raise awareness and celebrate individuality.
It’s an important part of The Custom Company because creativity isn’t only about making something beautiful. It can also be used to communicate something meaningful.
Jessica Mann
Founder & Designer, The Custom Company UK
I’m Jess, founder of The Custom Company UK.
I’ve always been drawn to creativity, but the thing that keeps me designing is the process of taking an idea and figuring out what it could become.
I notice the details. I question what doesn’t feel right. I keep refining until it does.
When someone comes to me with an idea, I look beyond what they want to make. I want to understand the person, occasion, story or purpose behind it. Those details become the foundation of the design.
Whether someone comes with a fully formed concept or simply says, “I’ll leave it to you,” I enjoy finding the direction that feels right.
Because ultimately, I don’t want someone to simply like a design.
I want them to look at it and think: “That feels like me.”
