Seen. Known. Chosen. Framework
A simple framework for becoming more visible, memorable and understood.
Let’s look at what this actually means for a beauty business.
You offer:
Facials
Skin treatments
Brows
Consultations
At home skincare advice
You post regularly.
You have beautiful treatment photos.
But people still don’t really know:
Why should I choose you?
That is where visibility becomes more strategic.
01 SEEN
“I know she exists.”
Visibility starts with being discoverable.
For a beauty business, this could mean showing:
• Your face
• Your treatment space
• Your personality
• Your expertise
• Your treatments
• Your approach
• The type of client you work with
But simply being visible isn’t enough.
SEEN ≠ REMEMBERED
Imagine two beauty businesses both post:
“Facial appointments available this week.”
One disappears into the feed.
The other consistently communicates:
“I help women with sensitive, reactive skin feel confident in their skincare again.”
Now we have something people can recognise themselves in.
Visibility needs context.
02 KNOWN
“I understand what she does.”
This is where your message becomes clear.
Instead of:
“I offer luxury beauty treatments.”
Try communicating:
Who you help
What problem you solve
How you approach it
What makes your experience different
People shouldn’t have to investigate your Instagram to work out why you’re relevant to them.
MAKE YOUR VALUE OBVIOUS
For a beauty business:
Not just:
“I offer bespoke facials.”
But:
“I create personalised facial treatments for women who feel overwhelmed by their skin and don’t know what it actually needs.”
Now the right person can think:
“That’s me.”
That is moving from seen → known.
03 CHOSEN
“She’s the person I want to book with.”
Being chosen isn’t about shouting louder.
It’s about creating enough clarity and trust that the right person feels confident taking the next step.
Show:
• Your expertise
• Your process
• Client experiences
• Results
• Your philosophy
• FAQs
• What appointments are actually like
• Why your approach matters
You’re reducing uncertainty.
THE SHIFT
SEEN
“I’ve seen her.”
↓
KNOWN
“I understand what she does and who it’s for.”
↓
CHOSEN
“She’s the person I want to book with.”
SO WHAT SHOULD YOU POST?
Don’t create content simply because you feel you need to post.
Ask:
Does this help people
SEE me?
Who are you?
KNOW me?
What do you do and why does it matter?
CHOOSE me?
Why should they trust you with their money, time and experience?
If every post has a job, visibility becomes much more intentional.
EXERCISE
Think about your own beauty business.
Complete these three sentences:
I want people to SEE me as…
I want people to KNOW that I…
I want people to CHOOSE me because…
That’s the foundation of your visibility strategy.
